About the Artist

Having a deep love for and connection to nature, Dione Dolan’s artwork reflects where her passion lies and her inspiration is drawn from. Dione is a local artist. She moved to the west coast at a young age and quickly fell in love when she saw the vast and breathtaking wilderness of British Columbia: the rocky Pacific shoreline, the moss and foliage of the Pacific Temperate Rainforest, and ever transforming skies over the local Cascade Mountains; captured in many of her pieces. Dione began sketching as a child and as a self-taught artist, found her muse in the piercing eyes of wild creatures eyes. With each piece, Dione invites the viewer to share in an emotion, ranging from the peaceful quiet solitude found deep in the trees as they disappear into a dense fog, to the cacophony and chaos of smashing waves as a storm approaches scattering the sea birds above. Dione’s love for nature and the outdoors is evident throughout her work even though she, at times, steps outside that realm to explore different styles, mediums, and subjects.

Dione was awarded Associate Signature status by the Federation of Canadian Artists March 2018 and regularly participates in fundraisers to support various community events.  In 2013 Dione was honoured as the Art Impact Ambassador by the Women Worldwide Initiative.  Her art has been selected to feature in many FCA juried shows where she sells her artwork and has been the recipient of awards. Dione has also featured at the Surrey Art Gallery, North Vancouver’s Anonymous Art Show, North Cowichan Art Gallery and more.
